Nancy heard Interpol panicking about the mines and paused, wondering if maybe she should make them run somehow. She looked around to see if security was as bad as she thought, before running back, an idea forming in her mind. She grabbed up the spray can and one of the cutouts, taking a moment to write her message on it, then turned and jumped up onto the wall. Pulling herself on top of it, she looked down at the group, a sneer on her face at how they were acting safely hidden behing the mask she wore. Only her eyes were visible, piercing at them, before Nancy tossed down her note. Run, ya bastards, she thought, repeating the advice she just gave them. To further clarify the point she pulled out the detonator for the mines, holding it aloft for Interpol to see.

"What about the mines?" Dan decided to be a hero and run out. He raced passed the mines trying to set them on fire

"The fuck is that fool doing?" Nancy watched in horror at what Dan was trying to do, and knew that if she didn't do something he'd kill himself. "Damn it." Dart gun in hand, she made her way back to Interpol. Nancy arrived at Interpol to see what Dan was doing. Instead of using the dart gun to shoot him, she thought she'd scare him instead. She reached for the detonator and hit a switch, which caused the mines to flash and beep as they became armed.

Travis was greatful that the cab driver was very understanding, allowing him to draw his money out before paying him at the hospital. He made his way in and began wandering about, hoping to spot Rei someplace. He was poking through the wards when a doctor spotted him.

"Excuse me, sir."

Travis paused for a moment before turning, a cordial expression on his face. "Yeah. I'm trying to find someone I know."

"Yep, sure. Just come this way please, we'll find them." Travis followed the doctor, talking as he did so.

"Her name's Rei Ayanami, she has blue hair. I wanted to apologise for what happened."

"What did happen?" the doctor asked. Travis chose to go with what happened before.

"Some thugs showed up. She was hurt during the incident."

"Sure," the doctor said understandingly. "Who should I say you are?"

That made Travis think. He knew he couldn't give a false name, Rei wouldn't know anyone else as far as he knew. But if he gave his real name, Rei might not want to see him, and Interpol might be able to track him down. He suddenly thought it was a bad idea to come here, but he couldn't back out now. All he could do was brazen it out. "Travis." The doctor said he would look for her and asked Travis to wait for him. He did so, trying his best to look patient.

Nancy shook her head in disbelief at what she witnessed, staggered that Dan was going through with it no matter what. Maybe he had some potential despite the insanity Nancy saw in him. "Okay," she said to herself. "You win." And with that she chose to leave. She wanted to check at home before dealing further with Interpol.

The doctor looked for Rei's details on the computer to find that there was no record of her. He did notice that someone named Reiko had been brought in, and wondered if that might have been her. He decided to go and check on her and made his way to the room she was in. "Excuse me," he said to her.

The girl turned to face her, and the doctor saw that she had blue hair like what was described. "What is it?" The girl sounded very sullen and withdrawn, which made the doctor concerned.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

The girl thought for a moment before replying. "No problems."

The doctor wasn't entirely convinced and made a note to check her records. "There's someone here who I think is looking for you," he said. "Travis Kennedy. Are you familiar with him at all?" The girl's eyes widened a little at the name, but otherwise any surprise she might have had was hidden. "He said he was looking for someone named Rae something or other," the doctor pressed when the girl didin't answer. "Some Japanese name. That's not you?"

The girl remained quiet, appearing to be in thought. "No, that is not me." If the doctor picked up on the lie he gave no indication.

"Okay." Since he was feeling creeped out he chose not to stay and went back to where he left Travis.

"Excuse me, Mr Kennedy?"

"You found her?" he asked, standing up.

"No, sorry. There isn't a Rae here."

Travis mulled over this for a moment, then turned to leave. "Okay." As he walked away he began talking to himself. "Rei's not stupid despite what she's done. She'd be hiding much the same I am." Before the doctor could ask what he meant by that Travis had walked away.

Nancy decided it was time to give the game away and drove herself home, pulling off the baleclava as she walked through the door and checked in on Lucian before she put a call through to Interpol on her videophone.
