Chavo nodded in agreement to Vega's comments.

"My brother sent this when his town was attacked," he explained. "Understand he is upset over losing his wife and is convinced American soldiers are behind this, but we must need proof." Setting up the video player he continued. "Imagine how they would react if we were to go after them, especially if they were innocent of the crimes." Having already seen the video and having no desire to see it again Chavo walked outside. "Come see me when you are ready to talk."

Mina was self conciously rubbing at her arm when her computer came to life.

"Major." It was Alex, who she saw was still with Vega. "This is one of the attacks that occured." Mina watched, it was the same video Reiko had seen, about ten tiles away. She didn't react visably but thought it prudant to inform them of what she was told.

"We are meant to allow this to happen," she said. For some reason, Alex found her matter of fact demeanor menacing.

"Albert said that? He's crazy."

"Yes," Mina agreed, "yes he is." After a beat, thinking she knew what the Shadowlaw agent would do, added, "Do what you can to make Vega happy."

"What about the boarder guards?" Alex questioned. Mina wondered exactly how it would be possible to investigate the culprits...it would largely depend on who it was. If it was American soldiers then that would make things easier...and harder.

"Whoever is responsible is considered expendable," she finally answered. "But we must remain true to our mission." Knowing that the conversation might be monitored she added, "Do what you have to do, and radio again when you have results."

"Thank." Jessie took the information and looked over it for a moment before pausing at one page.

Mina Krysa? She thought Nancy knew her. The cop remembered that Mina wrote one or two books, on the effects of America's invasion of Iraq and how what is done to fight terrorism might be used to make attacks legitimate, if she remembered correctly. Jessie wondered why she would have kidnapped Lucian. It probably didn't matter why right now, what mattered was trying to find him. She could coordinate with local law enforcement if needed.

"I'll show this to Nancy when she is up to it, if you don't mind." Crossing her arms Jessie added, "By the way, any luck with fingerprints?"

Philip nodded and looked through the files he had as he drove, picking out the autopsy report on Yun's master. The reason he asked about shotokan karate was because whoever killed him apparently knew it. He would share all this information of course, but after they ate, the young martial artist was probably too wrapped up in his grief to realise that.

"Got twenty bucks," he said, pulling into a McDonalds drive through. "Seven each sounds fair, what do you want?"

Alex kept a poker face as he watched the video, trying to pick up any clues to who was responsible. The black vans and attempts to hide their identity showed that whoever they were they weren't stupid. The way they moved semiphorphed that they were professionals as well, it was a sickening thought that there would actually be professionals at this. It would have been heelpful if he could have gotten a look at their faces, seen if they looked military. Even the fact they came from the opposite end of the boarder patrols suggested that Carlos knew what he was talking about, but...Alex shook his head. Chavo was right, without solid evidence there wasn't much they could do.

"He speaks the truth," he said apologetically to Vega. "We cannot go after American soldiers, especially if we cannot prove anything. Can you imagine what they would do to this town? And they wouldd be well within their rights..." Alex paused, listening to someone shouting in Spanish outside.

"¿Cuánto tiempo vamos a permitir que el huésped de América patrullas para huir con sus crimees?" It sounded like someone was on a loudsspeaker. "Debemos proteger a nuestras mujeres y niños, de ser violadas snd masacrados." Chavo came in, appearing somewhat calm, but distressed all the same.

"You two, you might want to take a look at this." He walked outside and pointed to a gathering crowd in the distance. "My brother." On top of a jeep was a solid looking man, the family resemblence was clear. With him was a large black man and a woman, with massively muscled arms, tattoos and a AK47 slung across her shoulder. She didn't appear to have noticed Vega yet, in fact she seemed withdrawn into herself.
