English beauty born with various Street Fighter related coincidences such as a Grandfather named Ken and the fact her birthday was four days after Guile's (!) in the same hometown as Cammy White herself, learned of the World Warrior tournament, the battles surrounding it and of course the entrants via the ever popular ‘Street Fighter’ series of games, and has learned of other tournaments, battles and great warriors in a similar way. She is however one of the few people other than the fighters we all know and love to ever understand the true worth of fighting and thus sees a greater purpose than just mere fun as to why, as with many other games created by various companies, the games company known as Capcom adapted the World Warrior tournaments in the Street Fighter games. One of her greatest desires in life is for people to see such a thing – and, of course, to show respect to her Lord and Master, Vega.

Like Vega, even amongst her joyous times Deadeye, then still only Deadeye Arkane, has been so undeservedly picked on many times in her past - but she is relieved to know he never got it from his parents! Which is one of the reasons why she feels sorry for him when people pick on him or thrash him. From birth she has been the constant subject of shrinks, but at least her family were still good to her - despite cursing her with a kid brother when she was 2 years old. Like fellow English fighter, ‘Camilla’ White, Deadeye has always, always been a cat person – she is highly afraid of large dogs because they often run up to her and jump at her.

She started learning of some of the warriors aiding the Street Fighters upon moving to her new home; despite not having heard of his game series yet she saw Mega Man in a popular Saturday morning TV show she admired! She is no exception to those who fear injections -guess why Needle Man takes quite the beating!- and gave up a former dream of becoming a nurse as the result of when she had to have an ear operation and the anaesthetist 'Toadily' gave her a needle rather than gas. You can guess how she feels about the Street Fighters’ NEEDLE-FREE complete-and-total-immunisation-against-all-diseases-for-all-eternity ‘ceremonies’! ^_^

It was in the year after she gave up this dream when she learned of the cartoon series 'Bucky O'Hare', a cartoon which itself is in fact favoured by the Street Fighters and other great warriors - one reason being because the 'good' characters are just about as moralistic about fighting as they are. Unsurprisingly, Deadeye's favourite in the whole series was Deadeye Duck - whom the Street Fighters themselves had in fact the ‘Vega’ of this series due to his handsome (no pun intended!) looks, his charm, his sense of humour, his irresistibility to the ladies and of course his ability to climb walls. Deadeye herself, as yet not knowing about Street Fighter, just adored Deadeye for various reasons as well as the fact they both shared the same name.

Actually, it was when Deadeye first learned of Bucky O’Hare when she came into contact with true fighting. When in her classroom on her brother’s 5th birthday, her teacher at the time took from her a most treasured item. Deadeye was angered, but with the aid of a close friend named Zoe –whose name and aid she found most appropriate as the name ‘Zoe’ means ‘life’ and this was when her own life first truly changed for her- she sneaked it back. Deadeye felt a strong desire for, though she was yet to know of the word, revenge against her teacher, whom she had thought to be a friend. Until then of course.

Deadeye gave up some of her past interests such as Henry’s Cat (yes she used to love this show!) in her plight for revenge and has consistently watched Bucky O’Hare ever since. However, various people including her own parents scorned her for her feelings, beliefs and reasons. Her parents even got shrinks in on her and tried to manipulate her, to 'bring her down'! She’d never begun to understand the shrinks’ desires until round about now, and now she did, they frightened her as much as injections did.

It was when she learned of the Street Fighter games – in particular, Street Fighter 2 Turbo. All the new games fascinated her but she was saddened at the fact her parents despised fighting and wouldn’t let her have one of these new systems. However she came close when a friend gave her a NES for a Christmas 1993present. One of the games she bought for it was none other than Bucky O’Hare (which she first spotted in a local Boots store) – her first completion of which, as she learned a few years later, was in fact nearly a month before the death of the famed film actor Raul Julia, who even for the obvious reasons has always been M Bison’s personal favourite! She did however seize a chance to play Street Fighter 2 Turbo when learning a boy who lived near where her Uncle, a professional tattoo artist and body piercer, lived at the time owned the game. She lost all but one round of one match as Chun Li, whom she played as due to the rarity of females in games, and was about to pick someone else –whom for some odd reason she thought resembled a frogman!- when she had to leave. Little did she realise the masked fighter she was about to select would one day become the most important person in her life.

Deadeye has suffered three Listeria attacks, two of which she suffered in the same year she became a Street Fighter fan, in life but was somehow very quick to recover. She believes strongly in the worth of fighting for someone you truly love – as long as the person is good and true. It was in 1995, when she finally obtained a SNES, when she and her family took a trip to Spain – to the world-famous town of Salou, in fact. Deadeye and her family did not know why this town was so famous. But despite not noticing him as he did her, it was whilst Deadeye was in Spain when Vega, who was still ‘serving’ Bison with an inner hatred of him and was in his hometown in his homelands on a ‘visit’ with the other three Grand Masters as it was during their time there when Sagat turned 40, spotted her and immediately fell in love with her, declaring despite not yet knowing her name she was the one he wanted to one day marry. However, Bison is also known to have spotted her and to have gained instant attraction to her, and thus wanted her in Shadowlaw – little realising both Vega and Balrog, who also inwardly hated Bison, intended to use these desires against him.

Deadeye also gained her first few Capcom titles shortly after this fate-twisting trip, and in the following year she finally obtained a copy of Street Fighter 2 Turbo - and coinciding to the fact she'd gotten this game in the year after she was in Spain, Vega turned out to be her best fighter! She was only a ‘low’ fan at the time, thus this first copy was eventually sold or swapped – unlike the original Mega Man game on the NES, which as if fate and luck would have it she obtained the same year she finally joined the Street Fighter fandom. She also met fellow game player and fighting fan Wayne -who himself was in fact a Johnny Cage clone!- in this year, 1996, and despite their friendship and interests getting them in occasional trouble, both shared their game tips and interests. Deadeye also had a copy of Street Fighter 2 in 1997, and this copy was sold to a friend of hers who looked remarkably like Dhalsim. She herself completed the game as Chun Li in 1998.

Always a keen fan of fighting games, Deadeye was also a fan of Mortal Kombat - one reason being because Wayne said she looked a little like Kitana! But in 1999, things were beginning to turn in the direction of the World Warrior tournament. It started when she finally obtained Super Street Fighter 2 (which despite Vega being her 'champion' -and of course whom she thus first played as here!- she completed as M Bison on the night before she first saw the game Street Fighter: The Movie!), then when she obtained some Street Fighter paraphernalia, and then when the live-action movie was being shown on England’s Channel 5 – much to her surprise and joy. She had once even seen the soundtrack CD for the movie at a car boot sale, but had herself never known there was a movie until the movie was a few years old, and even spotted the arcade version of the game based on the movie at a popular British theme park (despite losing her first ever match to Cammy and then to Chun Li when playing as Cammy on her second attempt, guess who she played as when she first had a go!).

But it was some time in October 1999 when Deadeye noticed her archenemy’s resemblance to Sagat, and even slowly began to notice something extremely inviting about Vega as well as the fact he had always been her best fighter and he was extremely gorgeous. With Sagat as Moran’s ‘rep’ and Vega as her own, her increased devotion as a Street Fighter fan was thus born. Her friend Wayne even told her of a few remarks she found very amusing, and she also began to search for various sites with images of Vega (in fact, this one was one of the first few she found!). And funny how she and Vega had a lot in common – even Deadeye has strong belief in beauty and particularly hates the idea of her beautiful face being scarred!

It was also around this time when Wayne admitted to Deadeye he had a crush on her. Unsurprising, really – she is one extremely gorgeous chick. The kissing and some touching Deadeye did not mind, but despite her not telling him so, Wayne’s more… obscene advances and questions frightened her. Deadeye only agreed just to keep the friendship going, and actually thought Wayne wanted more game tips or something, as he usually did, when he told her of his true feelings for her!

Even owning her own Mega Drive she obtained two Street Fighter games just five days before Christmas 1999. For her birthday she bought a video of the animated movie, itself based on one of the most popular battles surrounding the World Warrior Tournament, but you can guess why she nowadays likes to beat Chun Li both in sparring matches and in the games!

Deadeye obtained a copy of the Game Boy Color version of Street Fighter Alpha in early-late January 2000, and it was then when she began to learn more of some of the other fighters besides the ones she refers to as the ‘traditional seventeen’ –Vega, Balrog, Sagat, Bison, Akuma, Cammy, T Hawk, Fei Long, Dee Jay, Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Guile, Dhalsim, Honda, Zangief and Blanka of course- rather than just hearing a little bit like when she heard about Street Fighter 3, when she saw the fighter named Blade in Street Fighter: The Movie or when in 1999 she had a few goes of Street Fighter EX without knowing much about the ‘new’ fighters featured in it. Only when, shortly after she obtained the game, Deadeye learned of a horrific plan of Mr Moran’s did her parents truly begin to side with her a little. But despite this, they still misunderstood her true self. Deadeye did however agree to have her ears pierced by her Uncle as long as she could go for a game-shopping spree in Telford, her favourite place for shopping for games, as well. She obtained a new copy of Street Fighter 2 Turbo, her ‘target’ game at the time, during her spree.

But it was on the night of this day when she had a precognitive nightmare regarding Vega, warning her only she could avert such a thing but she was not to approach Vega until the time came but was allowed to speak to him online or via ‘snail mail’ in the meantime. Thus, Deadeye decided she would ‘serve’ Bison with the intent to betray him obviously when the time came. Even crafting her own projectile move, the ‘Vegas Ring’, and a Super Combo she dubbed the ‘Vegas Revenge’ what with her awesome devotion and ability, she trained herself in Spanish Ninjitsu and in bullfighting (and of course yodelling!), all of which she took to in an instant, and she even got her Uncle to do her a snake tattoo to go with the fighting outfit, matador uniform and even locket, the latter of which as with her full intent she would only reveal to Bison when she betrayed him, she’d had specially made for her this same day. As her parents misunderstood her, she did not tell them why she wanted the earliest available one-way flight from Manchester to Thailand. The earliest available flight was March 24, so Deadeye agreed to take it. Some people understood, and Wayne told her to do him a favour… and ‘kick that son-of-a-bitch Bison’s ass so HARD… that the next Bison wannabe is going to feel it!’ Deadeye agreed to do the very thing.

Her arrival at the Shadowlaw HQ stunned everyone (except of course Vega as he would of course not know it was ‘She’ until the time came!) – they immediately recognised her as the girl whom Vega and Bison spotted in Spain! Even Bison recognised her, and it was said warlord from whom she learned of the tragedy which took place almost a month after one of her own greatest achievements. Deadeye herself was surprised at the news, and Balrog, who during Deadeye’s early days in Shadowlaw even bought her a copy of Street Fighter 2 for her SNES, agreed not to inform Vega of the TRUE identity of his saviour-to-be until the time came, in order to not break his best friend’s heart in the meantime. The ‘heartbreaking’ part Deadeye would be made aware of at such a time, of course.

Deadeye and Vega became good online buddies and shared their interests and histories as they wrote, but of course upon telling Vega she’d been to Spain she did not tell him she was ‘She’ and the exact time she’d been there in 1995. Deadeye became surprised to learn even her now fellow fighters favoured some of the things she liked – particularly to know both she and Vega liked the same things, including the fact both their favourite food was squid, which Deadeye herself had in fact first tried during her fate-twisting trip to Spain. She befriended and with her wit and charm endeared all the other good fighters as well as Vega and Balrog, even visiting their homelands of course and joined in with traditions such as ‘parties’ at a specifically chosen fighter’s home whenever the live-action movie was shown in any of the countries. She loved the various theme parks she visited – man those rides rocked! She was even trained in various ‘arts’ such as virus busting as seen in the war later adapted as the Mega Man Battle Network games, and skills such as tarot reading. And yes, she made a name for herself in the bullring.

Despite her as-yet un-revealed inner hatred of Bison, Deadeye’s presence endeared Bison and his troopers. Bison developed a greater attraction to this seemingly loyal young lady, and because of this she was nicknamed ‘Anjelica Huston’ and ‘Morticia Addams’ by many of the Blade, Arkane, Khyber and F7 units of Shadowlaw. Of course, Deadeye made various adversaries while out there. In fact, her parents told her to ‘forget being who she was’ in an E-mail they sent her and one person whom she thought was a friend travelled out to Thailand and very nearly killed her! Fortunately, Balrog saved her on both occasions. It was shortly after these two events when Vega finally betrayed Bison and found sanctuary with a fellow fighter. Still greatly attracted to Deadeye and yet to know what he was getting himself into, Bison made her a Grand Master in Vega’s place and even made her his second-in-command. This of course gave Deadeye an advantage in ‘spying’ on the warlord’s world conquest and drug smuggling plans.

Yes, Deadeye greatly endeared the other fighters and even the fans with her loyalty, her kindness, her deep beliefs and her true worth as a Street Fighter. She has obvious reasons for, whether in the games or for real, she likes to thrash certain fighters – they don’t mind being beaten by HER, though! When, in August 2000, Bison decided to hold a tournament – the previous ones of which Vega was in fact the current champion, a lot of the fighters, even Bison himself, lost with the intent of actually letting Deadeye steal Vega’s title! Bison felt it appropriate for whom he thought was his most loyal servant to steal his most wanted traitor’s title. A lot of the fans, who had trained themselves under their favourite fighters’ styles over the years and finally wanted to test their moves out, had entered the tournament – even other Spanish Ninjas and some Vega haters were stunned at the sight of a girl as gorgeous as Deadeye!

‘The time came’ in early December 2000. Deadeye learned of a hideous intent –too terrifying to even say- Bison had for Vega but only then did she realise she was in love with him and had been so since she became a fan of his. Thus, she turned against Bison –as did Balrog, who returned to his boxing career in Las Vegas- and saved Vega’s dear life, and accepting the matador’s marriage proposal when he noticed whom his saviour was she returned with him to Spain and in the following month they were married in the city of Barcelona, with their fellow good fighters as witnesses, Ryu as the best man and Cammy as Deadeye’s bridesmaid. Thus as wife of the clan leader, Deadeye became second-in-command of Vega’s Spanish Ninja clan, her presence in the clan indeed endearing her fellow Spanish Ninjas.

The wedding of the two matadors increased Bison’s hatred of the pair. He sent out some of his best warriors –even his Khyber and F7 units- and sometimes made attempts himself to capture Deadeye in order to lure Vega into a trap, but to no avail. Deadeye herself had become an unstoppable one-woman defence force of a Spanish Ninja who would protect Vega’s honour and authority even at the cost of her own life – just as, minus fatality of course because Deadeye would not allow it, Vega would do the same. And whenever she fought in sparring matches with a Vega hater, she would win. In fact, in June 2001, she gave birth to a very beautiful daughter, whom she and Vega have named ‘Yodel’.

Of course, Deadeye and Vega both won the World Warrior Tournament in 2001 despite Deadeye getting into scrapes with various Vega-haters, and thus this did indeed anger Bison. The warlord, whom Deadeye naturally nicknames ‘Gomez Addams’, even declared he now wanted their ‘power’ and not Ryu’s!

Like her fellow fighters and as with during her time in Shadowlaw, Deadeye has always found time to ‘chill out’ – even making her ‘training’ fun. Having obtained a copy of Street Fighter: The Movie for her Sega Saturn, this and all other versions of the game were her favourite ‘training programmes’, as Street Fighter: The Movie was her favourite Street Fighter game ever. But when she learned the arcade version was no longer present at the British theme park she loved, she was angered. And at the same time, another Vega hater attempted to assassinate the pair – only to have a very high price put on his head.

In July 2002 – almost ten years since she began to believe in the true worth of fighting, Deadeye lost her right leg –to be exact, she had to have it amputated- and was even scarred on her face in a horrific road accident in which a group of Vega haters tried to run her over. In place of her right leg she was given an artificial stretchy one not unlike Dhalsim’s, and as a result of the scar she was extremely angered. But this stretchy leg helped her a lot! Vega healed Deadeye’s scar very quickly, but both of them –and their fellow Spanish Ninjas- have vowed their revenge.

Deadeye soon came into contact with a group of Vega haters including a young one named Mel, the same name as Ken’s son. Deadeye hated him with all of her dear heart. Then there was a girl named Crystal Hoshi, who admired Ryu not for his worth as a Street Fighter but for… yes, ‘a certain area’, and who hated Vega. These two disgusted Deadeye. She has vowed to eliminate their ‘unworthy existences’ – only to be angered even more when finding out someone had broken her copy of Street Fighter: The Movie. This is one of the reasons why Deadeye is indeed even more devoted to the movie – in her words, “I could do with a new copy right now, darn it!”

It was some weeks later when it was announced Bison would once again be hosting a World Warrior Tournament, this time in November 2002. Announcements were made worldwide and did indeed reach Deadeye and Vega. Both indeed signed up for entry, even learning there would be many Vega haters whom they would indeed annihilate, if not convince to like Vega. And just as much as Deadeye and Vega have vowed to protect one another, they hope their victory will finally gain them the trust, respect, understanding and love from those who are as yet unwilling to do so – and to eliminate all of those, indeed including M Bison, who are still very unwilling.
