If you would like to be interviewed here by Vega then just send one of the staff here a message and a description about yourself in order to have suitable questions relevant to you. If Vega thinks you are an ideal candidate, he'll ask you all the interview questions.

You don't need a site to be interviewed but it is preferred if you are a Street Fighter fan since it will be easier to ask the questions.

Today's interview is with Gilgamesh! Gilgamesh, do you agree with one of Chun-Li's earlier quotes that she really is the strongest woman in the world or at least stronger than the other female Street Fighters?

<Gilgamesh> That depends on your definition of "strongest." If you're talking about who would win an arm-wrestling competition, I think Chun-Li would probably come in second to R. Mika. But in terms of the Street Fighter plot, she's definitely the most powerful female character, and one of the most powerful Street Fighters overall. After all, she did bring down Shadaloo.

Where do you get the ideas to create your cross over comics and how long does it take to create one?

<Gilgamesh> Well, I've always enjoyed satirical humor. My favorite movie as a kid was Hot Shots Part Deux. I've been writing silly comedy stories since I was in the sixth grade, and right from the get-go I was using copywrited characters and well-known cultural references to tell silly stories.

In high school and college, I took quite a few courses in analyzing literature and creative writing which greatly enhanced my ability to put real thought into my gags. It sounds silly to analyze why a Monty Python skit is funny, but once you get good at it, it helps you appreciate the method to their madness. That kind of insight is what helps me come up with jokes for my comics. Understanding why something is humorous is the best way to keep yourself from making a classic rookie mistake of simply throwing a bunch of random nonsense out there and hope that some of it will be funny.

It used to take me 2-3 months to make a comic, but during the last two years I've become sidetracked by various other things such as college and the CCA RPG and now I'm lucky if I get two done every year. Nobody's more sick of it than I am, especially with all the ideas I've got floating around in my head, so I'm trying to get back to the point where I'm making a new one every couple of months.

I'm sure everyone knows how you feel about the Ryu and Chun-Li pairing. I agree that there is nothing more annoying and immature than harrassing other people in an attempt to force others that a particular pairing is the best and everything else is wrong. I kind of believe that we should be free to like whatever pairing we want but when it comes to attacking others, that's where it crosses the line. If a Ryu/Chun-Li fan were to behave and keep their beliefs to their selves will they still be welcome at your site?

<Gilgamesh> Absolutely. Forcing your beliefs on someone is wrong, period. As long as they honor the same rules everyone else around here follows, I'd have no problem with it at all. I don't want anybody to ever think otherwise.

I've noticed that a couple of really famous Street Fighter sites are closing down. Can you make a promise to the Street Fighter community that your Chun-Li site will be around forever?

<Gilgamesh> I'd love to, but let's be realistic. Few things in this world last forever. If and when the time comes when the site becomes more of a burden than a hobby, I'll step down as Kikouken.com's webmaster without giving it a second thought. A man's gotta have his priorities. It'll be a sad day for all, but I sincerely hope that, should it happen, I can find someone I can entrust the site to so Kikouken.com itself will live on long after I retire.

Do you have anything to say to all your fans?

<Gilgamesh> Most of what I have to say to my fellow fans I say on the main page or in one of my rants. But, since you asked, there is one more thing I'd like to say. Bush is a douche. Vote Democrat. ^_^

That's all the questions I have for you. Thank you for participating in the interview!
