If you would like to be interviewed here by Vega then just send one of the staff here a message and a description about yourself in order to have suitable questions relevant to you. If Vega thinks you are an ideal candidate, he'll ask you all the interview questions.

You don't need a site to be interviewed but it is preferred if you are a Street Fighter fan since it will be easier to ask the questions.

Today's interview is with Trutenor! Trutenor, why did you build your site around Ryu and Sakura? What is so special about those two?

<Trutenor> When I was still writing "Attack of The Dark Cherry Blossom", my first Ryu/Sakura fanfic, I was getting the attention of a lot of people who deep down inside, were closet Ryu/Sakura fans. Until I attempted to write that story, there were no Ryu/Sakura stories at Fanfiction.net. As I started to finish that story, I wanted to do something for the Ryu and Sakura fans. My other inspiration came from Sarah Amaya. Her site is focused around Vega and Chun Li. If she could have a different couple, then why couldn't I? But in all seriousness, I feel that Ryu and Sakura actually have a very special bond. They both like to fight. They both push themselves to the limits. They both have that natural ability. And they both question the true meaning of the fight. The best way to understand the bond between Ryu and Sakura is in Sakura's endings from SFA 2 and 3. Building a site around Ryu and Sakura was something that hadn't been done before. It gave me a chance to work in new territory.

Your site seems to be famous for your Ryu and Sakura stories. How long have you been writing fanfictions? How often do you have a new fic up?

<Trutenor> I've been writing fanfiction since December of 2001. My inspiration for writing came from the webmaster "Night", who was at the time, the magnificent owner of "Ryu and Chun Li forever". Reading his stories was breathtaking! (I still consider his work to be the best Ryu/Chun-Li work ever!) The first story that I attempted to write was called "Street Fighter: New Beginnings." (It can be found at ff.net or the sf fanfic archives) As for having new fics up, it depends on several things. First of all, it depends on what story. I do write about things other then Ryu and Sakura as well as things other then Street Fighter. Second, there is the infamous foe known as "writer's block". Then, there is the thing I like to call "me time" (stuff like college or work messes up the muse). Also, I want to make sure that my work isn't rushed, so I take a couple of days to think about my material. Then, I'll attempt to write. Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to write something. Finally, laziness and being in the "writing mood" affects my fanfiction.

I noticed that your site has lots of useful reviews so to sum it up what are your true feelings towards the Street Fighter live action movie?

<Trutenor> I feel that the movie was a disgrace to Street Fighter fans everywhere. Steven D.Souza (the director) had no idea what Street Fighter was about. If he did, then he wouldn't have treated the characters like he did. A lot of the changes that Steven implemented, messed up the continuity of what had already been established in the Street Fighter series. In fact, due to the changes, a lot of the characters such as Ken, Dhalsim, or Blanka, were contradictions to the storyline already given to them in the game. Most of the cast were insults to the characters that they were based on. The movie had the potential to be really great, if it was done right.

Which Street Fighter has won your heart?

<Trutenor> That's a difficult question. A lot of different characters are special to me. Aside from the usual ones (Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Sakura), I guess I would have to go with the characters that are often taken for granted or unappreciated. Characters like Balrog, Dee Jay or Zangief. And we can't forget T.Hawk! In SFA3, the character that won my heart was Karin, cause she is the female version of Ken. And her moves are so original. In SF3: Third Strike, it was Makoto, cause she really made me think of a female Ryu. I feel that Makoto is more of a female Ryu then even Sakura. Every Street Fighter has won my heart in a different way.

Do you have anything to say to all your fans?

<Trutenor> I have fans?! Seriously, I would just say that Street Fighter will never die, as long as it remains in our hearts. Whether or not Capcom decides to give the World Warriors another adventure won't decide the fate of Street Fighter. Us fans, readers, and fanfiction writers keep them alive. If it's writing fanfiction, just remember to put your heart into it. Try to keep everyone in character (unless it's AU), and most of all, have fun with what you're doing! And don't be afraid to try something new.

That's all the questions I have for you. Thank you for participating in the interview!
