Only those that paid the extra $50 for the kombat pack can get an early preview release but it is not worth it because if you're patient you can obtain the dlc character that you want a couple of weeks later for a cheaper price. Also don't pay for Frost because she is free in the game. Pay for Shao Kahn or Shang Tsung instead

Shang Tsung would be difficult to use because you have to know all the other characters moves and be able to use them

The tutorial in the game can teach and help you practice for fatalities. There is just a lot of farming in the game to get coins and skins/costumes for the characters

The krypt requires a lot of coin grinding but I find that the skins/costumes that I like are available as story mode prizes
