Fighter Profile: Rambo

John J. Rambo, better known as just Rambo, is a one man wrecking crew.

Rambo enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 on August 6, 1964, although he states in Rambo he was "drafted into Vietnam." After he graduated from Rangeford High School in 1965, his military service began in January 1966. Rambo was deployed to South Vietnam in September 1966. He returned to the U.S. in 1967 and began training with the U.S. Army Special Forces at Fort Bragg, North Carolina under Colonel Trautman's tutelage.

Rambo was originally a character from a novel, First Blood, that would eventually be a movie with the same name. He's looking for a member of his team, who he eventually finds out has died due to extended exposure to Agent Orange. The sheriff of the town treats Rambo poorly, dragging him to the end of town, which Rambo defiantly walks back into. He is arrested and charged. While he is in his cell, he has flashbacks of his time as a POW in Vietnam, being in a cold damp cell. When the deputies try to cut his hair and dry shave him, he has more flashbacks, which sets him into a blind rage. He ends up turning the small town into a warzone as it's him against the cops, until his commanding officer is sent to try and bring him in.

Rambo finds himself cornered, and goes off about the horrors of war, and how he like many other Vietnam veterans, was given a very cold reception after coming back. He eventually turns himself in to his former superior. In the original novel, Rambo dies, however they decided for the film he lives.

He's also found himself back in Vietnam, and in the Middle East in the sequels. He is extremely trained with a bow and arrow, and various weapons. If it shoots bullets, or can blow up, he knows how to use it.
