The SuperBeast Chronicles 21

Helping her stand up, Raiden's eyes sparkle with electricity.

Cammy: Who are you?

Raiden: I am Raiden, God of Thunder, one of the protectors of Earthrealm.

Cammy: What is going on?

Raiden: Your husband is in grave danger. Only you can save him. He has been taken captive by the warriors of a realm called Outworld.

Cammy: They took him. Jade, and a bunch of other people took him.

Raiden: I know, child. They plan on fighting for him in a tournament style contest where the winner claims him for whatever they wish. He is your husband, yes; but that means nothing where he is right now. You need to get him back. If either combatant wins, Mike is lost and this realm will cease to exist.

Cammy: Well, if you're a god, why don't you help me get him back.

Raiden: I can only get you to the Outworld, for it is there I am not allowed. I am human in Outworld. I have no power. But you, you can enter the tournament, and get him back. It will not be easy.

Cammy: Whatever I have to do to get Mike back, I'll do it.

Raiden wields his staff and forces open a portal.

Raiden: Go now, Cammy. Mike won't survive for long in Outworld.

Cammy, at first hesitant looking at the portal, Takes a sharp breath, and jumps head first. She feels herself being pulled forcibly through space and time, and lands onto gravel. She looks up and sees the black skies and lightning. Two men with covered faces pick her up and drag her over towards other fighters from all over, waiting for Shao Kahn. He enters and begins his opening ceremony.

Shao Kahn: I am Shao Kahn. You are all here for this unbelievable creature!

Sindel wheels out Mike on a stretcher. He is sedated, head hanging low.

Shao Kahn: You are apart of the tournament where he is the prize. Do with him whatever you wish, but only if you can defeat each other! When I call your name, step forward. Baraka! Mileena! Sub-Zero! Scorpion! Jade! and finally, Tanya!

All of them step forward, except for Tanya, who was nowhere to be found.

Shao Kahn: Tanya! Where is she!? Step forward!

Sindel whispers something in his ear.

Shao Kahn: Ah. We have a replacement for Tanya?

Cammy steps forward.

Cammy: I will take her place! I am Cammy White-Stoselmo! That prize is my husband! I will fight for him!

Shao Kahn: Raiden sent you! No matter, your otherworldly bond holds no place here! If you lose, you die! Good luck, mortal. You're going to need it. Now all of you, rest up for tonight, tomorrow, your battle begins on the sands of the coast!

The contestants go to assigned areas. Their war for Mike will begin in the morning.
